Questions and Answers

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic or upsetting memories. While you briefly hold a memory in mind, the therapist guides gentle bilateral stimulation (commonly side-to-side eye movements, taps, or tones), which helps your brain reprocess the memory so it becomes less distressing and you can adopt a more helpful belief about yourself. EMDR follows a step-by-step protocol and is done at a pace you control, and it’s widely used for PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related concerns.

What languages do you speak?

What is your approach?

I’m an EMDRIA-certified EMDR consultant and specialize in trauma, attachment, depression, and anxiety. I draw from EMDR, CBT, and Relational approaches to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, helping you process experiences, build resilience, and create meaningful change. If it’s important to you, I can also incorporate faith-based perspectives into therapy in a supportive, inclusive way.

Is there hope?

The body and mind have a remarkable ability to heal, though sometimes they need guidance to remember how. Healing is not a single path or a quick fix—it looks different for every person and every experience. Yet in most cases, meaningful recovery and growth are possible. I believe deeply in the body’s innate wisdom and in the therapeutic process that helps uncover and support that natural capacity to heal.
